Last week I did something a little different.

I got up at 4:30am, and headed off for a little trip to Glastonbury to see some lovely friends and watch the sunrise.

And I’m so glad I did.

The sunrise was absolutely beautiful. There’s something really special about being out and about that early, watching the world slowly wake up. Everything feels a little quieter, a little calmer, and for a moment you’re not thinking about all the things you need to do.

You’re just enjoying what’s right in front of you.

And I think we sometimes forget how lovely that feels.

Of course, a trip to Glastonbury wouldn’t be complete without a wander around all the crystal shops. I was definitely in my element! Crystals, coffees, lovely chats with friends, more crystals and probably another coffee.

But it got me thinking about how good it feels to do something different every now and then.

We all get so caught up in our usual routines, don’t we? Work, home, jobs to do, places to be. The days can start to feel a bit samey without us even realising.

And sometimes all it takes is doing something a little out of the ordinary to give yourself a lift.

It doesn’t have to be a big adventure or cost lots of money. It could be going somewhere you’ve never been, meeting up with someone you haven’t seen for ages, taking a walk somewhere different or simply making time to do something you enjoy.

I think there’s something quite refreshing about stepping away from the usual and just going with the flow for a change.

Glastonbury has always had a lovely energy about it for me, and between the beautiful sunrise, being with friends and having time to just wander, I came home feeling really good.

Nothing particularly life-changing happened. I didn’t have any huge revelations. I just had a really lovely day.

And actually, isn’t that enough?

We can spend so much time thinking about what’s next that we forget to enjoy what’s happening right now.

Sometimes it’s the simplest things that make us feel the best.

So, if you’ve been feeling a bit stuck in the same old routine, maybe it’s time to do something a little different.

Say yes to something you wouldn’t normally do. Get up early and watch the sunrise. Go for that coffee. Have a wander. Do something just because you fancy it.

You might be surprised at how good it makes you feel.

And if there happen to be a few crystal shops along the way, well, even better! x
